It is expected that in the near future, Inclusive Design features including zero-step entries and showers, widened door and hallways, and one level designs, will be commonplace in the average home.
These features will be very important for people who choose to "age in place", preferring to remain at home rather than move to a nursing facility, as well as for families that blend multiple generations under one roof.
Our retirement designs are primarily meant to meet the needs of those entering the retirement years (baby boomers), but also serve well those that wish to set down roots and never have to move again based on health and aging issues.
Our plans are also meant to be as versatile as possible in order to accommodate and incorporate changes as our buyers age.
The Two Master Suite Concept
Basic to our designs is the Two Master Suite Concept.
We all need the security that if we do need live-in-help in our final years, that our home will comfortably accommodate another family member or caregiver in their own private suite. Our secondary suites comprise several rooms on one side of the home, that can be locked off and accomodate a separate living room and mini kitchen if necessary.
These suites are also often used to accommodate live-in parents, the aging mother-in-law, or "returning to the nest" adult children.
The following are some of our standard design elements. These are desirable features for our Baby Boomer clients, which make our homes a solid investment in your future:
Wide doors and hallways
Low Maintenance lot and exterior
Low utility rates
Two Master Suites
Handicap Conversion flexibility
Low or No threshold master luxury shower
Raised appliances when possible
Easy reach kitchen pantry storage
Bright custom lighting
Tons of natural sunlight
Energy effecient design, construction, and materials
